I thought the law was still that local cable companies had to carry the OTA companies broadcasting in their region?

TW Cable sucketh! I moved 50 miles south and get everything I used to get for 1/3 of the price!

In the KC region we still get CBS over TWC, but no Showtime, Smithsonian channel. That’s because the CBS station here is an Affiliate, but not directly owned by CBS like the channels in NY, Dallas, and LA.

Well crap. Can’t get a good digital signal without an external antenna. Which is not allowed as unsightly etc. Back to Direct? At least they have a 1Tb drive in their box.

I bet they are popping champagne at DirectTV; this should get them a lot of new customers. I cut the cable a long time ago and just use online streaming from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and other services which are free.
